"Loverboy"
Get ready to rock with Loverboy, the iconic Canadian band synonymous with 80s arena rock energy. Known for Mike Reno's soaring vocals, Paul Dean's driving guitar, and unforgettable anthems, Loverboy delivered a powerful blend of hard rock hooks and pop sensibility that defined a generation's soundtrack.
- When It's Over
- Turn Me Loose
- Queen Of The Broken Hearts
- Lovin' Every Minute of It
- Working for the Weekend
Loverboy enjoyed a massively successful run from their formation in 1979 through the late 1980s (around 1988/1989), reforming in 1991 and continuing to perform today (as of May 5, 2025). Their signature sound skillfully blended Rock, Hard rock, Pop rock, and quintessential Arena rock, even incorporating Dance-rock elements. This formula produced numerous hits often regarded as a Cruisin Classic, particularly during their peak years which saw key releases in 1980 (Aug 15), 1981 (Oct 07), 1982 (Jan 15), 1983 (Oct 08), and 1985 (Aug 01).
This prolific period gifted Loverboy a string of memorable, high-energy rock anthems. The universally recognized "Working for the Weekend" remains an iconic celebration of freedom, while early hits like "Turn Me Loose" showcased their raw rock power. Fan favorites such as the driving "Lovin' Every Minute of It," the melodic "Queen Of The Broken Hearts," and the popular power ballad "When It's Over" further cemented their status as masters of catchy, guitar-fueled arena rock.
