Hailing from London, Whitesnake slithered onto the scene in 1978, formed by vocalist David Coverdale after his Deep Purple departure. While initially conceived as his backing band, they quickly transformed into a distinct entity, captivating audiences with their bluesy hard rock sound.

Fronted by Coverdale's powerful vocals and characterized by soaring guitar riffs and keyboard flourishes, Whitesnake navigated various styles throughout their career. Their early albums like "Trouble" and "Lovehunter" leaned towards a blues-rock foundation, while later releases like "Slide It In" and "Whitesnake" embraced a more commercial, radio-friendly approach, incorporating glam influences.

Their 1987 self-titled album proved their most successful, achieving multi-platinum status and spawning iconic hits like "Here I Go Again" and "Is This Love," solidifying their place in 80s rock royalty. Despite lineup changes and a brief hiatus in the 90s, Whitesnake slithered back, continuing to tour and release new music.

David Coverdale remains the constant force, his charisma and bluesy rasp instantly recognizable. With their latest album, "The Purple Album" (a reimagining of Deep Purple classics), they continue to enthrall fans, both old and new.
